DOUG UNPLUGS ON THE FARM THUMBNAIL DUMMY

So here is the story for my new book DOUG UNPLUGS ON THE FARM just starting to come together.


This is the way most of my picture books start off- with scribbly little thumbnails- and up until a few months ago- coffee.

    Hey Dan! Do you start your books with sketches before writing the words? I think you said at workshop that is your method of writing. I work the same way. I find it easier to sketch first and then use the words to fill the gaps and move the story along.

    I start most of my picture books this way, but not all of them. Some begin with text.
