I'm SO EXCITED about my new picture book, DOUG UNPLUGGED! It just hit the stores and has been made available on February 12.
If you know me, you know I LOVE robots and this is a story about a little robot who loves to play, learn and explore, just like any kid.
The story begins with his parents plugging him into a giant computer so he can downloaded today's lesson (the connection is, where else, in his bellybutton).
Today's lesson is all about the city and little Doug obediently sits as he learns all about fire engines, skyscrapers and pigeons.
That is, until he sees a real pigeon at the window. Doug notices that the pigeon makes a funny cooing sound, but this information wasn't in any of his downloads. He thinks that there could be even more city things he could learn that weren't in his downloads, so he decides to unplug and go exploring
He was right! Doug learns that if you fly into a flock of pigeons, they all flew away.
He then ventures out into the city to discover even more things.
Doug learns all sorts of things he couldn't have through his computer and he even makes a friend. In fact, the most important thing he learns is from his new friend.
Now you'll have to read the book to find out what it is!
